Last year, Purito made headlines in the skincare world when the beloved Purito sunscreen (Purito Centella Unscented Sun Cream) tested to be SPF 19 instead of the SPF claims on the bottle(SPF 50). The Centella Green Level Sunscreen wasn’t the only one that didn’t match their SPF claims. Other Asian sunscreens like Dear Klairs and Keep Cool also had issues with SPF testing.
Purito apologized, provided refunds, and took their consumers’ feedback to come out with this new Purito sunscreen, the Daily Go-To Sunscreen. Purito kindly sent this my way, so today I’m here to share my honest Purito sunscreen review.
Key Features
Hybrid Sunscreen: The Daily Go-To Sunscreen uses a combination of chemical and physical sunscreen filters. UV Filters: Tinosorb S, Uvinul T 150, Titanium Dioxide, Uvinul A Plus
Broad-Spectrum: This sunscreen SPF provides high UVA and UVB protection.
High SPF: This formula went through two rounds of SPF testing and provides SPF 50+ and PA++++, so it has high levels of protection against UVA rays and UVB rays.
Fragrance Free: This sunscreen is fragrance and essential oil free, which can be irritating for more sensitive skin.
Key Ingredients: This SPF is formulated with panthenol and centella asiatica extract, which are great calming ingredients!
Purito Sunscreen Review
Before the scandal, I was an avid user one of the other Purito Sunscreens, the Comfy Water Sun Block. It was an easy to blend mineral SPF that felt lightweight and was safe for sensitive skin. I was really sad about the scandal, but was hopeful that they’d be able to create a new great sunscreen formula that provided enough sun protection from damaging UV rays.
Initial Thoughts
This hybrid sunscreen has a creamy, hydrating formula that feels smooth on the skin. However, I’ve found when applying the full 3 finger lengths, it can feel a bit greasy on the skin, especially if you have more oily skin. I found that it left me looking very shiny that eventually settled to a glowy finish after about 15-20 minutes. I found that the glowy, dewy finish never set/went away, so if you prefer a more natural or matte finish, this probably isn’t the best fit for you.
This sunscreen does take a little bit of time to blend in due to the hydrating formula, but it does not leave a white cast (at least on my skin tone). The formula does feel pretty sheer, so I think even for very deep skin tones, the white cast would be minimal (no zinc oxide ghosts here!).
Price & Packaging Info
Price: This SPF retails for around $19 depending on where you purchase!
Available at:
- YesStyle (Use code ESTIEBUNNY for $$ off)
- Stylevana (Use code INF10EB for 10-15% off)
- Amazon
Fill: 2 oz / 60 ml, so a bit larger than standard sunscreens (1.7 oz/50 ml)
Packaging: Matte white, plastic tube packaging with a screw on lid. Easy, basic packaging but it can get dirty easily (see photos).
Skin Type
Dry skin types would really like this SPF! It’s a great addition to a hydrating skin care routine and would be perfect if your skin gets dry in the winter.
The fragrance free formula is a great option for sensitive skin, but I think it would feel too heavy for combination skin or an oily skin type.
I do believe this could work well for dry and acne prone skin, but of course, everyone’s skin is different. To help with the heaviness, you could consider skipping moisturizer when using it since it’s already such a hydrating formula.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
– Centella extract is great for calming and soothing the skin
– Sits well under the makeup
– Provides high UVB & UVA protection
– Fragrance & essential oil free formula is gentle enough for sensitive skin
– Creamy, hydrating formula is a good fit for dry skin types that prefer a glowy, dewy finish
Cons:
– The hydrating formula can feel heavy for more oily skin types
– Leaves a very glowy/shiny finish that never fully sets (personal preference)
– Takes a little bit of time to blend in compared to other lightweight sunscreens, but honestly not too bad.

Overall Thoughts
While this sunscreen does provide high UV protection, I always recommend minimizing sun exposure and taking extra sun protection measures by wearing protective clothing and staying in the shade.
As always, sunscreen is a crucial part of any skin care routine to protect against ultraviolet rays that can cause sun damage and skin cancer. I think this is a decent sunscreen option for the price point, but it unfortunately didn’t wow me as much as I hoped it would.
