Cocokind is an up and coming skincare brand that focuses on high quality products at a more accessible price point. I’ve been following the brand for years now, and some of their skincare products are favorites of mine! Today I’ll be sharing my Cocokind review of the products I’ve tried from their line:
Who is Cocokind?
As a brand, Cocokind’s goal is to “disrupt the status quo in the skin care industry” by focusing on transparency. I love their community-first approach as a brand! I’m happy to support a skincare company that is transparent with its customers. All Cocokind products are vegan + cruelty free, and I love that their founder Priscilla Tsai is focused on building an approachable, inclusive brand!
Now that we know a little more about the brand, let’s talk about my Cocokind review of the products I’ve tried from the Cocokind skincare line!
Cocokind Oil to Milk Cleanser
Let’s first start with cleansers! The Cocokind Oil to Milk Cleanser is unfortunately not a skincare favorite of mine. I was really excited to try this because I’ve been looking for a great cleansing balm in a tube because of the convenience!
I’ve used up most of my bottle at this point, but it’s not my favorite. Every time I’ve tried to use this cleanser, I feel like a film is left on top of my skin. I’ve tried using it on dry skin, damp skin, emulsifying it with water before use, but no matter what I can’t seem to fully rinse it off. This residue does get removed when I follow with a second cleanser, but the film bothers me when I use this on its own.
Overall, the Cocokind Oil to Milk Cleanser is a pass for me, but I know there’s many people that love it! It could just not be the best fit for my skin personally. I think the price for the size is also a little on the higher end ($18 for 2.7 oz), so it’s just not my favorite facial cleansing oil/balm.
Cocokind AHA Jelly Cleanser
This is Cocokind’s first water-based cleanser in their skincare line! It has 4% alpha-hydroxy acids derived from hibiscus and fermented grapes. This cleanser is pretty gentle on the skin and has a thin gel texture. I see a slight brightening effect with regular use and it leaves my skin feeling clean but not overly stripped.
I like this cleanser, but I don’t LOVE it. It’s one of those cleansers that doesn’t emulsify or foam up at all, which is a characteristic I love having in cleansers. It’s mainly personal preference, but the lack of foaming + the slight synthetic scent keeps it from being a go-to skincare product for me.
I do still use and enjoy the results I get with this cleanser, but I unfortunately don’t love it enough for it to be a staple in my skincare routine. I think if you want a gentle, easy way to get exfoliation to your routine, this is a solid option! I’d recommend starting out use 3-4x a week and you can build up to daily if well tolerated!
Cocokind Glow Essence with Sea Caviar
Toners and essences aren’t a necessity when it comes to building your first skincare routine, but I do love using them! This essence from Cocokind is nice and hydrating and has a unique star ingredient: Sea Grape Caviar. This ingredient is a type of algae that helps to maintain water retention in the skin.
I do think this product is pretty pricey for the size ($18 for 2 oz/60 ml) but I genuinely enjoy it! It hydrates my skin well and provides a slight “plumping” effect from the instant hydration. I love using this for a layer of hydration underneath my serums and moisturizers and I definitely notice my skin feels hydrated for longer periods of time.
Overall, this is a pricey product but I genuinely enjoy it and think it’d be a great option if you have a dehydrated or dry skin type. This has a light eucalyptus scent from essential oils, so just something to note if your skin is sensitive to EOs.
Cocokind Ceramide Barrier Serum
Another favorite from the line (if not my all-time favorite). I’m a big fan of ceramides in skincare and I love the hydrating, milky texture of this serum. This Cocokind product was made to support your skin barrier and it feels instantly calming and soothing on the skin.
I love that it’s free of fragrance and essential oils so there’s minimal risk for irritation, especially for sensitive skin. This formula also contains a small percentage (0.6%) of lactic acid to help with product penetration (not for exfoliation).
I’ve used this product alongside other actives like exfoliating acids and retinoids with no issues! One of my favorites and a Cocokind product that would be perfect for sensitive or dry skin.
Cocokind Probiotic Acne Serum
I’ve been very pleasantly surprised by Cocokind’s acne serum! It’s a gentle formula with 1.5% salicylic acid and beta glucan. If you have mild breakouts or clogged pores, this is a really nice gentle option. I’ve been using it on mild congestion on my forehead and its helped to unclog my pores and balance out any excess oil.
I love the lightweight texture because it sinks in easily with no stickiness! I think this would a great product for oily skin or sensitive and acne prone skin looking to treat acne and clogged pores. I’d recommend using it a few nights a week for best results!
Cocokind Revitalizing Eye Cream
One of the products I was most excited to try from the brand was this eye cream! I love the cooling metal applicator and I think this is a solid eye care option. The star ingredient is persian silk tree, which is meant to help fade the look of fine lines. I don’t personally know enough about this ingredient to testify on that claim, but keeping the eye area nourished can help minimize the appearance of fine lines.
This is a nice, creamy eye product that sinks in easily. I personally have sensitive eyes and experienced no irritation in this area. With consistent use, my under eyes have started to look a bit smoother and this keeps the area nicely hydrated. I think it’s well-priced and a worthwhile addition to your routine as a starter eye product.
I’ve always believed that you don’t need an eye product, but this is a great option if you want to add one. I do prefer eye products with active ingredients like vitamin c and retinol to treat specific concerns (like dark circles), but if you just want to keep the area hydrate, I do really enjoy this one.
Cocokind Daily SPF
Cocokind’s sunscreen is a mineral/physical SPF 32 that uses inorganic filters (more on that in my chemical vs physical sunscreen post). This is one of the better mineral sunscreens I’ve tried because it doesn’t feel super thick or heavy on the skin. It blends in relatively easily but, it still sits on top of the skin and overall isn’t my favorite.
It’s not a bad sunscreen, but it’s not my go-to and I don’t see myself repurchasing when I run out. I think it could be a good accessible option for sensitive skin types, but I wish the SPF was closer to 50! I’ve also noticed that it can leave a minor white cast on my skin tone (which is pretty light). If you have a deeper skin tone, I think that you would have a noticeable white cast with this sunscreen.

Cocokind MyMatcha Stick
The Cocokind MyMatcha Stick is another one of my favorite products from the brand! It’s a multi-purpose balm that can be used on the lips and dry patches. I mainly use it as a lip balm and I love how nourishing it is.
It has a really simple ingredient list: just coconut oil, beeswax, and matcha powder. I really love that this is a good bang for your buck – it’s $9 and really large for lip balm. It’s pretty much the exact same size as a jumbo glue stick. I use this as my everyday lip balm and I love that it nourishes my lips with no irritation.
If you’re looking for a simple, well-priced lip balm for day or night, I highly recommend this one! I also use it on any dry patches I may have to add extra nourishment without irritation.
Overall Cocokind Review
Overall, Cocokind’s skin care products are some of my favorites! The Ceramide Serum, Acne Serum, and MyMatcha Stick are all staples in my skincare routine. I love what the brand stands for and that Cocokind products are high quality at an accessible price point. Hopefully this Cocokind review was helpful if you’re planning on picking up some products from the line!
There are other Cocokind products I’d love to try, like the Cocokind Turmeric spot treatment, rosewater facial toner, texture smoothing cream, and more. If you’ve tried the Cocokind Resurfacing Sleep Mask, I’d love to hear your thoughts. That’s another Cocokind product I’ve had my eye on.
One product I used to use and love was the Cocokind Matcha Moisturizer! It is now discontinued but it was my favorite rich moisturizer for the colder months. Cocokind, if you’re reading this, please bring back the Matcha Moisturizer! I loved how creamy and nourishing it was on the skin.
