If you’ve been on the lookout for an affordable sunscreen at Sephora, this Innisfree sunscreen is one of the best-priced options out there. Sunscreen is a crucial part of your skincare routine for protecting your skin from damaging UV rays. So it’s important to find a sunblock you love to protect your face every day. Today I’ll be diving into the formula of the Innisfree Daily UV Defense along with the texture, finish, price, and more in this in-depth review.
Product Highlights
Broad-Spectrum Sun Protection: This sunscreen provides broad-spectrum protection (meaning it protects the skin from UVA rays and UVB rays). This is important to help prevent skin aging, skin cancer, and burning.
Mid-tier SPF 36: While SPF 36 is on the lower end of my preference, it’s a solid SPF for day to day. If you’re going to be outdoors all day, I’d recommend going with SPF 50. However, if you’re spending most of your time indoors, SPF 36 should be fine!
Light, creamy formula: This sunscreen is advertised as a lightweight, water-based sunscreen. This sinks into the skin nicely and doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on the skin.
Chemical sunscreen filters: This is a chemical sunscreen that uses Avobenzone, Homosalate, and Octisalate as its sunscreen filters.

Innisfree Sunscreen Review
Now that you know some of the key highlights of this sunscreen, let’s do a full review.
Texture
The product description claims this sunscreen as a lightweight, water-based sunscreen (which I do agree with). This sunscreen has a lightweight, creamy formula that sinks into the skin easily. It doesn’t feel overly heavy or greasy and feels smooth on the skin. No complaints here!
Scent
There is fragrance in this product, but it doesn’t smell overly fragrant. It has a normal sunscreen scent to me that dissipates after a few minutes.
Finish
On my normal to dry skin, this leaves a slightly glowy finish. It doesn’t look overly glowy or shiny and feels lightweight on the skin. Love the finish on this one! I experience no white cast or pilling with this SPF and it sits well under makeup. It also does not sting my eyes!
Price & Packaging
This is probably the best-priced face sunscreen from Sephora – it’s $15 for 1.7 oz/50 ml, which is a pretty affordable price point! I think the price point is comparable to some drugstore sunscreens and I find it to be a pretty high quality product.
The product packaging is quite simple – just a white slim tube with a twist-off cap. I like that it isn’t overly bulky and is perfect to take on the go for reapplication or for travel.
Overall, I think it’s very compact and is a very fair price point. No complaints from me on these aspects!
Key Ingredients
Green tea extract: Green tea acts as an antioxidant that can help balance sebum production and protect the skin from environmental stressors.
Centella asiatica extract: A soothing ingredient that helps to calm sensitive skin. Often found in Korean beauty products because of its soothing effect.
Vitamin E (Tocopherol): A vitamin that acts as an antioxidant that protects and nourishes the skin.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
– Great price point and compact size
– Accessible at Sephora
– Lightweight formula that isn’t too greasy or heavy and sits well under makeup
– Blends in easily with no white cast
Cons:
– Has synthetic fragrance (something to note if your skin is sensitive to fragrance)
– Sun protection factor (SPF) is not as high as I like for spending lots of time outdoors, but I’d opt for an SPF 50, water-resistant sunscreen for those days regardless.
– The natural glowy finish may not be a favorite for everyone, but you can always set it with powder if you have more oily skin!
Recommended for
I honestly think this Innisfree sunscreen could work for pretty much every skin type! If you’re looking for a lightweight, hydrating sunscreen with a slightly glowy finish, this would be a great addition to your skincare routine. This sunscreen does not leave a white cast, so I think it will work for every skin tone.
If you have very sensitive skin that is reactive to fragrance, this may not be the best fit for you. I recommend patch testing if you decide to try it out!
How to Use
Use 2-3 finger lengths (or 1/3 – 1/2 a teaspoon) of product every morning as the last step in your skincare routine. If you have long stretches of sun exposure, reapply every two hours. If you decide to apply makeup on top, wait a few minutes for the sunscreen to set before applying your makeup.

Overall Thoughts
Overall, I am very impressed with this sunscreen! I love that it’s easily available at Sephora (and you can get free delivery with code FREESHIP). I think it’s a great option for everyday (especially since I’m indoors most of the time) to protect against harmful UV rays and minimize premature signs of aging like fine lines/wrinkle on the face.
If you’ve been looking for a good SPF that’s accessible, this is definitely a great pick. Sephora also carries a matte version of this Innisfree sunscreen, which I’m also curious to try! Remember to look for a sunscreen you love and are willing to apply every day – that is key to keeping your skin healthy and protected.
